Why use FEA
In today’s business environment, consumers have become more demanding, product life cycles have become shorter and shorter, new product development competitors spring up seemingly overnight and the volatile economy creates new pressures to cut costs wherever possible. As a result, product designs have become much more complex - with added features, smaller sizing, novel materials, cost-saving production processes and other innovations.
In the past, companies used to “overdesign” products. In order to avoid risks they used to add extra materials for strength or make empirical assumptions in the design phase. This standard is no longer a viable solution in todays market. Cost management demands using the least amount of raw materials coupled with a short design time frame. Furthermore, a product must work as intended throughout its entire lifecycle; without product integrity, there is a risk of product failure, warranty claims, recalls and possible damage to the brand behind the product.
With science making big leaps every day by translating analytical methods into convenient computer software, computer aided engineering (CAE) has become the ultimate tool of the R&D process. Virtual engineering helps to ensure that the features you build into your product will operate as designed in real conditions. Actually, it’s a promise to customers that their products will satisfy their expectations in every respect.
The finite element method (FEM) is a numerical technique for representing and simulating physical systems. The geometry is replaced with a set of elements, consisting of nodes with a finite number of degrees of freedom. These nodes form a grid called the mesh. Certain material and structural properties are assigned to the mesh, which define how the structure will react to certain loading conditions.
The FE method is used in new product design, and existing product refinement. A company is able to verify a proposed design and adjust to the client's specifications prior to manufacturing or construction. The FE method can be used to modify an existing product or structure as well, so as to qualify the product or structure for a new service condition.
Benefits of Finite Element Analysis include:
- Ability to accurately assess the performance & safety of any design prior to manufacture
- Identify and resolve design faults early
- Minimize cost of materials & maximize product performance.
- Speed up time to market

Because of its incredible power to replicate how products perform in the real world, engineering simulation has revolutionized the product development process. By minimizing costly physical testing, accelerating time to market, and enabling game-changing design innovations in a low-risk virtual environment, simulation has helped businesses in every industry achieve significant competitive advantages. By using simulation software, finite element analysis (FEA) enables quick, efficient and cost-effective product development throughout the development process — from design concept to final-stage testing, validation and production. It has become the ultimate tool for companies to fulfill customer promises, delivering optimized high-quality products that perform as expected in real-world applications.
A first meeting between the potential customer and FEAC’s team of experts is arranged in order to discuss the objective, needs and expectations of the collaboration.
Before we start the design process, both parties need to have a perfect understanding of
- aim of the design & targets of the under development product
- involved physics (structural, transient, modal, thermal, electromagnetic, aerodynamic, etc.)
- possible material properties of several components
- available space for dimensioning the structure
- loads being applied on the structure (forces, pressures, moments, thermal loads, acceleration, current, etc.)
- operational conditions
- limitations due to other factors
Of course many of the above mentioned points will be under constant modifications during the optimization process, until the final optimized product (material properties, shape/dimensions/design, etc). This first meeting can be a face-to-face discussion (either in the customer’s offices or in our headquarters), a video meeting or an extensive exchange of e-mails with attached informative material.
After understanding the needs of the project, an official quote will be issued. FEAC’s work is typically quoted on a total cost basis up front, allowing customers to make effective decisions beforehand, and avoiding cost overruns. 20% of the price is asked to be paid in the beginning, and the rest 80% will be paid at the end of the project. For some complex projects, we can offer you quote for several steps and control the total cost under lowest level. See the price section.
An effective time schedule will be set. We guarantee to respect it. Statistically we deliver our projects a week prior the agreed deadline.
After our agreement, a contract will be signed and our team will immediately start working on the project.
Throughout the collaboration, FEAC is obliged to prepare reports of the ongoing work on a weekly basis. These reports will be sent through e-mail or, if requested, video conferences can be organized with presentations from FEAC. The customer has the ability to ask for additional, non-scheduled meetings, at any time. The progress, results, methodology, things-to-do and perhaps new tasks will be discussed and added to our workflow if needed.
At the end of the project, a review meeting will be organized (either in the customer’s offices, in our headquarters or via video meeting. All files created by FEAC throughout the collaboration will be transferred to the customer, along with any presentations and reports.
Why choose us
The increasing demand in CAD drafting and FE modeling, due to the numerous advantages they offer over traditional designs, force many companies to re-evaluate the way they design their products.
Many companies, especially small to medium sized ones, face difficulties adopting this new methodology often due to shortages in manpower, budget, knowledge, experience and deadlines set by their clients.
They still require drawings, models, simulation, optimized results and presentations at top professional levels but since they can’t run an in-house CAD and FEA department, they have to outsource. They need the assistance of FEAC services.
FEAC provides the perfect solution for such situations, with no need to expand your offices or recruit more staff. You can now easily outsource your projects to be accomplished with the highest of standards.
Collaborating with us reduces your expenses, increases your profit and helps you gain more marketshare over your competitors.
Not only businesses can benefit from FEAC services. Universities and R&D centers have used our services numerous times due to the time and cost effectiveness FEAC can provide.
Universities and R&D centers often have limited resources whether is money, time or personnel. More often than not, outsourcing these kinds of projects can be more effective both in terms of budget and time. Some universities want to run different tests or development cycles in parallel for faster deployment or R&D centers might want to run the same processes more than once to validate their findings etc.
FEAC has a wide range of services which can be beneficial to almost any industry that needs any kind of product development or analysis. Be sure to contact us about your next project and find out how we can help.
We are using the highest quality software to accomplish our analyses according to industry standards

After a first meeting and discussion of the project with the client about the objectives, needs and expectations for the product, an price quote will be issued. We offer an one off price based on a project, but we can keep the work under a budget set by our client. Deadlines are discussed immediately afterwards.
After the agreement we immediately start working on the project and most of the time we deliver 1 week before the deadline.
During our development stage we keep offer scheduled weekly meetings in which we discuss the progress of the project.
We are also offer the ability to our clients to reach to us with any means they prefer, or even request setup a non-scheduled meeting.
While we are conducting our project development and from the feedback we receive from our client, we can adjust the methodology, tasks, etc and update the workflow and the result if needed.
We also offer support on all our finished projects about anything involving the design and engineering process of FEAC.
When we have a perfect understanding of the project and its details, we give a total, all inclusive price quote for the whole project. We require 20% deposit upfront and the rest 80% when we finish the project and hand you the files.
We can also split project stages and keep it under a budget set by our client.
